About CRNF

CRNF (ceolrn Foundation) was formed in 2026 to develop a music-led initiative focused on using music as a tool for advocacy and raising vital funds for a selected beneficiary.

Originally ceolrn (CRN) was a radio show on Ollscoil na Gaillimhe's student-led community radio, FlirtFM, playing some tunes and getting to speak to some great people every Thursday morning. ceolrn is still running every Tuesday at 11:00.

Fundraising and advocacy with The Alzheimer Society of Ireland (ASI) began in 2025, which included fundraising and advocacy for events including RAG (Raise and Give) Week, and the Alzheimer's Tea Day, raising over €500 for ASI in our first public charity event.

We have a simple aim - to raise funds and advocate through music. Our ambitious (but not overly farfetched) goal is to organise live music events in Gaillimh.

Following discussions with ASI, Ruairí Connolly (Coordinator) was registered with the Alzheimer Society of Ireland as a third-party fundraiser. In September 2026, ASI issued a letter confirming this registration and recognising CRN’27 as an independently organised fundraising event in support of the Society.

More information about this can be found in the paper trail.

What are we (legally)?

What are we (legally)?

A very important disclaimer.

CRNF (ceolrn Foundation) is not a registered charity, and therefore does not have a registered charity number.

Ceolrn Foundation (CRNF) is an independent, music-led fundraising initiative, established to bring people together through music and advocacy in support of selected causes.

CRNF is independently run and is not registered with the Charities Regulator. It operates separately from the charities and organisations it supports, each of which is identified in connection with its relevant fundraising project.

CRNF's ability to commit to charitable works is reliant on trust, transparency, and a strict nature of good-willed work.

For each project organised by us, how we manage finances is managed with care and scrutiny. Depending on the means that funds are being raised, donations might go to directly to the beneficiary, or may go to the beneficiary via CRNF. This would be disclosed ahead of time.

Where expenses or other relevant charges apply, these will be deducted from the amount raised.

All financial records can be found in the Paper Trail.

In recognition of our work to date, ASI issued a formal authorisation in September 2026 as we work towards organising our first flagship event, CRN'27.

CRNF is independently funded, and receives no funding from other charities (including ASI), or governing bodies. The work done by CRNF is funded by individual donations, good-will gestures, or sponsorships only.
